Captive Requirements and Welfare
Crested Geckos are one of the best starting geckos, come in a variety of colours and patterns, the majority don't mind handling and although cresties jump they do not spring great distances. They need tall vivariums that can hold humidity, therefore a glass enclosure is the best choice. Spray 1 - 2x a day to keep the humidity at the required level. Lots of branches and plant matter are needed for cresties to make them feel secure and camoflaged. It is very difficult to tell the sex of a crestie until they start to mature at 6 - 12 months of age. Once they reached this age sexing is obvious. An equivalent commercial diet called Repashy Diet has be designed to give all the nutrients cresties need from a fruit diet. This comes as a powder which you mix with water into a ketchup consistency paste.

Most Natural: Repti Bark + Eco Earth
Alternatives: Not Advised

Plenty of foliage and branches this is how cresties would live and hide in the wild

Lots of branches and fake plants allow the opportunity to climb and hide to feel secure

Spray 1 - 2x a day since cresties will only drink from water that falls off the leaves

Food (Feeding)

Crickets or hoppers are best as cresties like to ambush prey. Fruit wise can either give RD or chop small pieces of banana, peach or apricot or mango.

Spot pick weekly, full clean monthly
